Devprayag - Confluence of Bhagirathi & Alaknanda rivers. On the way to Badrinath from Rishikesh (Uttarakhand, India), one can see Panch prayags (or 5 confluences) of Alaknanda river. Devprayag is the first one. During the rainy season the color difference is quite contrasting especially when its rained too heavily and mud from the mountains comes along to mix with the river water. In other seasons, water is fresh and clean aqua green in color. Each prayag is considered to be holy and has a temple at the point of confluence.
